As you may already know, southwest Iowa is known for being one of the best places to hunt wild pheasant & quail.  Our farm has primarily pheasants, but it also has some quail hunting.  We have nearly 2,000 acres of prime pheasant-hunting land, most within 1-3 miles of our home.  Our hunting land has the type of terrain which pheasants love--CRP set-aside grasses, fence rows, good cover, water, and other grassy coverage.

Beck's Pheasant & Quail Hunting

We have been hosting pheasant hunters for about twenty years.  We strive to improve our operation so that customers will want to return, and many do each year.  We have our own land, and we also lease hunting rights from other farm owners with good pheasant and quail habitat. We are very particular about the kind of land we lease to ensure you the best hunt possible.

    Hunting License:
    You are responsible for obtaining your Iowa hunting license, which costs $80.50 with a required $8.50 habitat stamp.  For more information, you can visit www.iowadnr.com or phone the IOWA DNR at (515) 281-4687.

    Season & Limits:
    The Iowa pheasant-hunting season begins the last Saturday of October and lasts through the first week of January.  The pheasant limit is 3 cocks per day and 12 in possession. Your limit on quail is much larger.

    Hunting Dates:
    Your choice of hunting dates will be guaranteed once we receive your 50% non-refundable deposit.

    About our Lodging:
    Our home has a basement so large that it amazes hunters when they first see it.  It has a smaller bedroom which holds 3-4 and a larger open area with about 8 beds.  There is enough room to accommodate 20 people, however the largest group we normally handle is around 6 - 8 - or - 12 - and there is plenty of room to spare.

    The basement has its own entrance, shower, restroom, refrigerator-freezer, hot plates, sinks and microwave, tv, etc.  We provide beds, bedding, and pillows along with a large, home-cooked Iowa farm breakfast.  For your afternoon meals you can cook on your own or eat in town 3 miles away.

    If you have a trained dog, he may sleep in your room in the basement or we have outside lodging for the hunting dogs.
